Berlin, December 18, 2024 - Researchers from the Technical University of Munich have successfully developed a new type of antibacterial pharmaceutical packaging material. The material is added with nano-silver ions, which can kill 99.9% of bacteria on the packaging surface, effectively preventing drug contamination during storage and use.

The antibacterial effect of the material can last for more than 2 years, and it does not affect the safety and efficacy of the drugs inside the packaging. The material has passed the EU safety certification and will be put into commercial use in 2025, mainly used for the packaging of oral drugs and injectable drugs.
