Canada Invests $80M in Pharmaceutical Packaging Innovation Research
Ottawa, December 14, 2024 - The Canadian government announced an investment of $80 million in the next 5 years to support the research and development of innovative pharmaceutical packaging technologies. The funding will be mainly used for the research of intelligent packaging, biodegradable materials, and anti-counterfeiting packaging technologies.
The project will be jointly undertaken by Canadian universities, research institutions and pharmaceutical packaging enterprises, with the goal of making Canada a global leader in pharmaceutical packaging innovation. The government expects that the project will create more than 1,000 high-tech jobs and promote the development of the Canadian pharmaceutical industry.
