Austria Develops Water-Soluble Pharmaceutical Packaging Film
Vienna, December 3, 2024 - Austrian research institute BOKU developed a new type of water-soluble pharmaceutical packaging film made from natural polysaccharides. The film can dissolve completely in water within 24 hours, leaving no residue, and is suitable for the packaging of water-soluble drugs and effervescent tablets.
The film has good mechanical properties and barrier performance, and can effectively protect drugs during storage. The use of this film can completely eliminate the environmental pollution caused by pharmaceutical packaging waste, and it has been tested by Austrian pharmaceutical companies with good results.
