Stockholm, December 2, 2024 - The Swedish Pharmaceutical Packaging Association announced that all member enterprises have achieved carbon neutrality in pharmaceutical packaging production. These enterprises use 100% renewable energy such as wind power and hydropower for production, and implement carbon capture technology for unavoidable carbon emissions.

Sweden has become the first country in the world to achieve carbon neutrality in the pharmaceutical packaging industry. The Swedish government plans to promote this model to other industries and achieve national carbon neutrality by 2045 as scheduled.
