Oslo, December 1, 2024 - Norwegian packaging company Norske Skog developed a new type of light-protective pharmaceutical packaging specially designed for photosensitive drugs. The packaging is added with special UV-absorbing materials, which can block 99% of ultraviolet rays and 95% of visible light, effectively protecting drugs from light damage.

The packaging is made of recyclable paper-based materials, which is environmentally friendly and cost-effective. It is mainly used for the packaging of antibiotics, vitamins and other photosensitive drugs, and will be supplied to the Nordic pharmaceutical market in 2025.
