Copenhagen, November 30, 2024 - The Danish government and major pharmaceutical and packaging enterprises jointly launched a pharmaceutical packaging circular economy project. The project includes the establishment of a nationwide pharmaceutical packaging recycling network, the development of recyclable packaging materials, and the promotion of packaging design for recycling.

The goal of the project is to achieve 100% recycling of pharmaceutical packaging in Denmark by 2030. The Danish government will invest 200 million Danish kroner in the project, and enterprises will bear the main responsibility for the recycling and treatment of their products' packaging.
